FREE VS CREDITS · ONE PHOTO IN
Free AI video generator: what free actually gets you
Reviewed 31 October 2026 · Written from the live studio, not from a free-trial page
“Free AI video generator” means three different things: a generator that costs nothing, a trial that ends at a paywall, and a free tool that animates a photo without generating anything new. Only the third is true here. This page puts the free half and the paid half side by side, so you can decide in one screen whether to open the free editor or spend a credit — and skip the part where you upload a photo and only then find out.
Free here, charged here, not offered at all
There are two creation modes on this site and only one of them is free. The table is the whole argument; everything below it is the detail.
| Free · no credits | AI · credits | |
|---|---|---|
| What runs | Preset photo animation, in your own browser tab | An image-to-video model, picked for you: Kling 2.6, Vidu Q4 or Wan 2.2 |
| What you give it | One photo and, if you want, a headline | One to four photos plus a written prompt you can edit |
| What comes out | Your own photo, moved and decorated | Five seconds, 9:16 vertical, 720p or 1080p depending on the model that ran |
| What it costs | No credits and no card | 1 credit silent, 2 credits with sound; 10 credits cost $9.99 |
| How long it takes | Records while the tab is open and visible | Rendered by the provider, so it takes as long as their queue |
| What it cannot do | Invent movement the photo does not already contain | Run past five seconds, or continue into a second shot |
Not offered in either mode: text-to-video, clips longer than five seconds, 4K, scripted speech and lip-sync.
Why this page does not promise a free AI trial
Every AI clip here is produced by a model provider that bills per generation. A free trial would mean either absorbing that cost per visitor or advertising a trial that quietly stops working — the pattern where a “free” generator returns a pre-rendered example, a watermark, or a queue that never clears. Keeping the model paid and the browser mode genuinely free is the version of “free” this site can keep.
That is also why the free mode is not a crippled AI feature. It is a different technique: it moves the pixels you already have instead of inventing new ones. No credits, no queue, no server, and no claim that your subject will walk or speak, because it will not.
What the free mode does with your photo
It moves the frame, not the subject
Preset camera motion and whole-image movement: a slow push, a drift, a zoom. A portrait stays a portrait and a product stays the same product, because nothing is being redrawn. If you need the cat to turn its head, that is the AI mode, and it costs a credit.
It adds decoration you can edit
Particles, light effects, an optional headline in your own words, and instrumental sound. This is the mode for a greeting card, a product card or a quiet story post — the kind of five seconds where the still image is the point and the motion only stops it from looking like a screenshot.
It records in the tab, and that has rules
The animation is captured in your browser and saved as WebM or MP4 depending on the browser. Keep the tab open and in front while it records; a backgrounded tab gets throttled and the capture drops frames. There is no server render to wait for, which is exactly why it costs nothing.
It still asks for an account and a safety check
Free does not mean anonymous. You need an account, every person in the photo must be clearly adult and fully clothed, and the image passes a safety review before it is used. The same rules apply to the paid mode — they are about what may be uploaded, not about who is paying.
What a credit buys, on one real photo
Both clips below came out of this studio’s account from the same project-owned cat photo, on the standard model route: five seconds, silent, one credit each. They show the two results most people are choosing between — a small believable movement, and a movement that changes the framing. Neither was made in the free mode, and neither is a stock example from a model vendor.
A small head turn
The cat stays in the room it was photographed in and turns its head slightly. This is the cheaper kind of result to get right: one subject, one small action, the background left alone.
A step toward the lens
The same cat walks from its starting pose into a closer framing. More movement means the model has more to invent, which is why the photo needs room in front of the animal.
One credit is the silent price; two when you keep the original sound. The smallest pack is 10 credits for $9.99, 30 for $24.99 and 80 for $59.99, one-time and not a subscription. Optional upgrades cost more: Seedance 2.0 Fast is 2 credits and Seedance 2.5 is 4, and both have to be chosen explicitly before you confirm.
Free AI video generator questions
Is there a free AI video generator on this site?
No. There is no free AI generation tier: every clip made by a model is paid for with credits, 1 credit silent and 2 with sound. What is free is the photo-animation mode, which moves and decorates the picture you upload instead of generating new frames. Both modes need a free account and a safety review; only the AI mode needs credits.
Can I create something without paying anything at all?
Yes, if preset motion is enough. Open the photo-animation mode, sign in, upload a photo you own or have permission to use, and record. No credits are spent and no card is needed. The account is free, and the safety review is required before anything is uploaded.
What does the free mode export?
A video file, WebM or MP4 depending on your browser, recorded in the tab as the animation plays. Keep the tab open and visible while it records, because a backgrounded tab is throttled and the capture drops frames. Nothing is rendered on a server, which is why it costs no credits.
Why does an AI clip cost a credit?
The model providers charge per generation and the credit is how that cost is passed on. The smallest pack is 10 credits for $9.99, so a silent standard clip works out at about a dollar. Packs are one-time purchases, not a subscription, and nothing renews.
Can I see what the AI will cost before I commit?
Yes. The studio shows the model and the credit cost before you confirm, and you can write and rewrite the prompt without spending anything. What it will not do is render the clip for free: the charge happens at generation, not at upload.
What can neither mode do?
Neither mode takes text alone as input, so there is no text-to-video here. Clips are five seconds and cannot be extended into a second shot. 4K is not offered, and scripted speech or lip-sync is not offered either. If one of those is the actual requirement, this is the wrong site and the page should say so before you buy credits.
In one paragraph
This site has no free AI generation tier: a model-made clip costs 1 credit silent and 2 with sound, from one-time packs that start at 10 credits for $9.99. What is free is the photo-animation mode, which moves and decorates your own photo in the browser without spending anything, and needs an account and a safety review like everything else here. Open the free photo animation editor if preset motion is enough, read the credit packs and model list if you want new subject motion, and if a five-second vertical clip is the wrong shape for your idea, stop here rather than buying credits first.
